Chester (14-1) (District 1 AAAA )
The
Clippers roar to a 33-5 lead after first quarter and blast Sun Valley 104-35. Kevin
Green-Germany led with 23pts, Nasir Robinson had 21pts, Russell
Johnson 17pts
and Rahlir Jefferson scored 16pts. Chester then led Harriton 20-1 after the first
quarter and went on to a 68-42 win. Nasir Robinson led with 20pts, Karon
Burton had
13pts and Russell Johnson had 12pts. The Clippers then traveled to
Norfolk, Va to play in the Martin Luther King Jr. Roundball Classic @ Old
Dominion University. As they have been doing all week they jumped out fast to a 27-10
first quarter lead, extended it to 58-21 at the half and 79-32 after three on
the way to crushing Virginia Beach Ocean Lakes, VA 95-52. All five starters
scored in double-figures led by Nasir Robinson 22pts, 11rebs, Green-Germany with
17pts, on five treys, Burton (4 treys, 10 assists) and Jefferson (10rebs) both scored
14pts and Johnson had 11pts. Non of the five played in the fourth quarter.

Philadelphia Roman Catholic (8-2) (Philadelphia Catholic League)
In
a close game most of the way, Roman held off Radnor Archbishop Carroll 62-58. Maalik
Wayns and Wes Kirkland led with 17pts, while Courtney Stanley added 10pts. Roman
trailed Monsignor Bonner 29-24 at the half, then used an 18-10 third quarter to
take a 42-39 lead into the final 8-minutes and held on for a 53-52 victory. Wayns led
with 19pts.

Pennsbury (15-1) (District 1 AAAA)
The
Falcons put 12-players in the scoring column led by Dalton Pepper with 18pts and Marcus
Healey with
11pts in a 69-39 win over Neshaminy. Jumped all over Abington in a 70-43 win. Pepper led
with 27pts, Justin Brewton had 11pts and Ed DiRugeris added 10pts.

Philadelphia Prep Charter (7-3) (Philadelphia Public League-District 12 AA)
The
Huskies defeated Philadelphia Hope Charter 74-59, Ferg Myrick led with 22pts, Parrish
Grant had
20pts and Willis Nicholson added 11pts. Led Philadelphia World
Communications 21-7 after the first quarter on the way to an 89-49 victory. Myrick led
with 24pts and Ahmeen Tanksley added 14pts.
5.
Reading (16-0) (District 3 AAAA)
The
Red Knights crushed Governor Mifflin 99-47 on the road. Jermaine Jackson led with 16pts, Trenity
Burdine had
15pts, Justin Rodriguez had 13pts, Jordan Burdine 12pts, Marcus Dawkins 11pts
and Joshua Sheriff added 10pts as 12-players scored. Defeated heated rival,
Wilson 57-42 on the road. Jordan Burdine led with 19pts and Jackson had 15pts, 9rebs. Fell
behind 9-3 early and 17-15 after the first quarter, but came back and pounded a
good York High team, 79-56 @ The Harrisburg Hoop Group Hoop Fest for their third win of
the week. Jordan Burdine led with 31pts, Trenity Burdine had 16pts, Rodriguez had 12pts and Jackson scored
11pts.
6.
Philadelphia St. John Neumann-St. Maria Goretti (8-6) (Philadelphia Cath.
League)
The
Saints fell behind 15-9 at the end of the first quarter and were upset at
Springfield Cardinal O’Hara 65-56. Tony Chennault led with 18pts and Jamal
Wilson had
10pts. Trailed Philadelphia West Catholic 30-26 at the half but outscored the
Burrs 21-6 in the third quarter to take a 59-49 win. Chennault led with 21pts and Wilson had
17pts
7.
Philadelphia Imhotep Charter (11-2) (Philadelphia Public League-District 12 AA)
In
their first game of 2008 the Panthers wasted no time in running to a 69-20
victory over Philadelphia Mastery Charter. It was 31-3 after the first quarter
and 47-3 at the half. Will Adams was high-scorer with 12pts, while Kenny
Battle and Rashad Savage both had 10pts. Again got ahead quickly leading 29-4 after the
first quarter in a 67-43 win over Philadelphia Hope Charter. Lamar Trice and Adams both scored 16pts to
lead, Miguel Bocachica had 13pts and Savage added 11pts. Also defeated Academy Park
76-37.

Philadelphia Communications Tech (12-2) (Phila. Public League-District 12 AAA)
Leading
only 22-20 at the half, the Phoenix outscored Philadelphia Frankford 27-12 in
the third quarter on the way to a 71-54 victory. Andrew Randall led with 23pts, Antonio
“Gee” Monroe had 15pts, while Chris Jones had 14pts. Trailed Philadelphia George
Washington after all of the first three quarters but used a 24-16 fourth
quarter to gain a 71-67 victory. Randall led with 24pts, Shaquille Shannon had 14pts and Chris
Jones added
10pts. Then Randall led with 25pts, 13rebs and Monroe had 24pts. But the Phoenix
blew a 12-point third quarter lead and lost at Williamsport, 81-76.

Pittsburgh Central Catholic (14-2) (District 7 WPIAL AAAA)
The
Vikings bounce back from last weeks loss to McKeesport and got a 67-60 win at
Fox Chapel. Lucas Mickens led with 20pts. Then defeated Woodland Hills
63-41 and Pittsburgh Schenley, for the second time this season, 77-74.
10.
Norristown (17-0) (District 1 AAAA)
The
Eagles defeated Central Bucks West 58-49. Khalif Wyatt led with 23pts and Russell
Graham had
15pts. Came back the next night and beat Central Bucks South 54-29 as James
Ramsey led
with 16pts. In their third game of the week, Norristown ran to a 22-4 first
quarter lead then held on for a 56-52 win over Central Bucks East. Wyatt led again with 18pts and Russell Graham had 13pts.

McKeesport (12-1) (District 7 WPIAL AAAA)
The
Tigers gained a non-Section 59-48 win over Seneca Valley. Devon Alexander led with 16pts, 11rebs
and 4 assists, Shadrae King had 15pts and Quentin Harding had 11pts. Then defeated
Fox Chapel 50-42 as Harding led with 20pts.
12.
Pittsburgh Schenley (15-2) (Pittsburgh City-District 8 AAAA)
The
Spartans blasted Pittsburgh Allderdice 84-60 and Pittsburgh Westinghouse 73-48.
Then suffered their second loss of the season to Pittsburgh Central Catholic. Deandre
Kane is
still averaging over 31ppg, but it’s been hard getting nightly scoring for the
Spartans.
13.
Lower Merion (12-3) (District 1 AAAA)
The
Ace’s took over the Central League lead with a come from behind 47-44 victory
over Ridley. Lower Merion led 26-18 at the half but fell behind 39-36 after
three quarters. Greg Robbins led with 18pts and Carl Johnson added 15pts. In another
tough Central League outing, Lower Merion led Springfield-Delco only 26-24 at
the half, but used an 18-2 tear in the third quarter to gain a 58-34 victory. Robbins led
again with 21pts and Johnson backed him up with 12pts. Led Harrisburg by
as much as 24-14 in the second quarter but fell behind late in the third
quarter. After the lead kept changing hands down the stretch the Aces lost to
the Cougars @ The Harrisburg Hoop Group Hoop Fest, 54-53. Robbins was high with 16pts,
followed by Johnson with 15pts and Steve Meehan with 11pts.
14.
Central Dauphin East (14-1) (District 3 AAAA)
Bounced
back from their first loss and romped past sister school Central Dauphin 66-38. Demond Bates led with 17pts. Then overcame a 12-point first quarter deficit and
went on to a 69-58 win over Cedar Cliff. Bates led with 22pts and Jonathan
Breeden added
19pts.
15.
Bethlehem Liberty (15-1) (District 11 AAAA)
The
Hurricanes got an impressive win over Parkland, the preseason favorite in the
Lehigh Valley with a 53-43 victory. Sergio Comacho led with 15pts, Pedro
Williams had
13pts and Trevor VanAckeren added 10pts. Williams then scored a
career-high 15pts and grabbed 10rebs to pace Liberty to a 59-41 win over
Whitehall. Justin Rivera added 10pts. Anthony Gonzalez then scored 12pts, Comacho 11pts and Jared West 10pts
in a 53-42 win over Allentown Central Catholic.
16.
Ridley (14-3) (District 1 AAAA)
Dan
Robinson had
20pts, Steve Egee had 13pts and Shamar Harris had 10pts, but the Green Raiders still
lost to Lower Merion 47-44. Defeated Marple-Newtown 61-50 as Robinson scored 26pts, Egee had 13pts and John
Trasatti added
12pts. In third game of the week, Ridley defeated Penncrest 57-42. Egee led with 25pts, while Harris and Robinson both
scored 13pts apiece.

Philadelphia North Catholic (11-4) (Philadelphia Catholic League)
In
a nice win defeated Philadelphia Father Judge 70-60. Velton Jones led with 23pts, R. J.
Handy had
13pts and Josh Stevens added 10pts. North Catholic trailed LaSalle 25-20 at the
half but used a strong second half to gain a 57-47 victory. Lenny Young led with 19pts and Jones had
14pts.
18.
Philadelphia Monsignor Bonner (11-4) (Philadelphia Catholic League)
In
their only game of the week, the Friars pushed Roman Catholic to the limit
before dropping a 53-52 decision. Henry Smith led with 13pts, Rob
Siter had
12pts and Lijah Thompson finished with 11pts.

Susquehanna Township (13-1) (District 3 AAA)
The
Indians used a 12-3 run in the final two minutes for a come from behind 62-57
victory over Gettysburg. Matt Jones led with 17pts. Then took over first place in
Mid-Penn Keystone with a 64-51 win over Mechanicsburg. Jones led with 28pts and Ben
Dupree chipped
in 15pts. Then @ The Harrisburg Hoop Group Hoop Fest, they used an 11-1
fourth-quarter run to pull away to a 44-37 win over Newark, Delaware. Akeem
Wilson and Jones led
with 14pts apiece and Dupree added 10pts as the trio shared 38 of the teams
44 points

Williamsport (11-3) (District 4-2 AAAA)
The
Millionaires move into the ratings for the first time this year on the strength
of their come from behind 81-76 win at home over Philadelphia Communications
Tech. It was their second home win over a highly rated Philadelphia Public
League school this year as they earlier beat Prep Charter, although the Huskies
were without star guard Jessie Morgan. They started the season minus five or
more players they figured would be a good team for team reasons and they never
returned. They lost to both West York 73-66 and York High 82-48 in the York
Tip-Off Tournament. Since that time they have only been beaten by Paterson Catholic,
NJ 75-62 in the finals of their own Holiday Tournament. The only other win to
excite you would be 69-53 over a 14-1 Shamokin team. Against Communications
Tech, 6-1 Jr Isaiah Twine led with 21pts, 6-4 Jr Dontahe Jordan had 18pts, 6-1 Jr Sean
Ruane had
17pts and 5-10 Jr Jadiah Lynch added 15pts. Others who played were: 6-0 Jr Keith Haynes, 6-5
Jr Thomas James, 6-2 Soph Blake Adams and 6-3 Sr Erick Scott.
DROPPED
OUT: Erie
McDowell (13-2) After a loss to Erie Cathedral Prep and to make room for
Williamsport. But McDowell and Prep are still two teams to keep a close eye on.
