1. York (32-2) (AAAA)
The Bearcats finished their best season ever,
record wise by making it to the PIAA AAAA STATE CHAMPIONSHIP where they lost to Penn Wood
53-62. Despite losing in the District title game to CD East they hold on to #1
after making it to the state final. To get there they defeated Bethlehem
Liberty 58-41 in the Round
of 32, Central
Bucks South 87-83 (3OT) in the Round of 16, Parkland 58-49 in the Quarterfinals and Plymouth-Whitemarsh 64-56 in
the SemifinalsÉ..In District play, the Bearcats defeated
Dallastown 86-55, Reading 66-65 and Harrisburg 76-70 to reach the championship
undefeated before losing to Central Dauphin East 63-54.
2. Central Dauphin East
(27-4) (AAAA)
The Panthers roared to the District championship
with wins over Mechanicsburg 60-39, Elizabethtown 48-42, Red Land 55-40 and
previously undefeated York 63-54.É.The Panthers defeated Glen Mills 59-44 in
the PIAA AAAA
Round of 32,
before losing to Pennsbury 45-42 in the Round of 16.
3. Harrisburg (22-7) (AAAA)
The Cougars defeated Gettysburg 62-46 and Penn
Manor 49-38 but lost to York 76-70 in the District semifinals, before being
upset by Red Land 54-51 in the consolation gameÉ..Then lost in PIAA AAAA Round of 32 to Conestoga 38-37.
4. Susquehanna Township
(23-6) (AAA)
The Indians opened District play with victories
over Kennard-Dale 58-53 and Lancaster Catholic 72-57, before being upset 46-45
in the semifinals by York Suburban. Then bounced back in what many thought
would be the final and handily defeated Eastern York 68-54 to take third
placeÉ..The Indians defeated Wilkes-Barre Holy Redeemer 72-46 in the PIAA AAA Round of 32, but then were beaten 54-41 by
Philadelphia Neumann-Goretti in the Round of 16.
5. York Suburban (27-4) (AAA)
Won the District title with wins over York Northern
72-59, New Oxford 57-30, Susquehanna Township 46-45, in a big upset, and in the
final over Wyomissing 48-45.É.Defeated Abington Heights 46-38 in the PIAA AAA Round of 32, Strath Haven 59-45 in the Round of 16 and Crestwood 47-35 in the Quarterfinals. Season was then ended in the Semifinals with a 65-57 loss to Radnor
Archbishop Carroll.
6. Penn Manor (21-6) (AAAA)
The Comets defeated Lancaster 64-58 in the first
round of District play. Then lost to Harrisburg 49-38 in the quarterfinals. In
the battle for 5th, 6th, 7th place they defeated Reading
67-63, then took fifth place with a 67-56 win over Cedar CliffÉ..Lost 51-46 to
Penn Wood in PIAA
AAAA Round of 32.
7. Cedar Cliff (16-10) (AAAA)
The Colts opened District play with
72-42 Pigtail win over Waynesboro, then defeated Wilson 49-46 in overtime,
before losing to Red Land 44-42 in overtime. In the battle for 5th, 6th, 7th place they defeated
Elizabethtown 54-53 but then finished sixth when they lost to Penn Manor
67-56.É.Lost to Williamsport 87-58 in PIAA AAAA Round of 32.
8. Elizabethtown (24-6)
(AAAA)
The Bears defeated Governor Mifflin 67-57 in the
first round of Districts, then lost to Central Dauphin East 48-42. Lost in the
5th, 6th, 7th place semifinals to Cedar Cliff
54-53, but made stateÕs with a 64-53 victory over ReadingÉ..Season ended with a
68-60 loss to Norristown in PIAA AAAA Round of 32.
9. Wilson (19-6) (AAAA)
Lost in first round of DistrictÕs to Cedar Cliff
49-46 in overtime.
10. Reading (20-9) (AAAA)
Defeated Lampeter-Strasburg 51-36 in District
Pigtail game, then defeated Conestoga Valley 63-54. Had York down 17pts, but
lost in the final seconds, 66-65. In the 5th, 6th, 7th place semifinals, the Red Knights lost to Penn Manor
67-63, then saw their season end with a 64-53 defeat to Elizabethtown.
11. Trinity (24-8) (AA)
Won the District championship with wins over
Kutztown 75-38, York Catholic 48-33, Delone Catholic 68-53 and Pequea Valley
60-42.É.Defeated Philadelphia
Strawberry Mansion 64-49 in the PIAA AA Round of 32 and Dunmore 53-49 in overtime in
the Round of
16. Then lost to
Hughesville 67-60 in the Quarterfinals.
12. Eastern York (25-5) (AAA)
The Golden Knights defeated Milton Hershey 66-53
and Steelton-Highspire 62-50 in the first two rounds of District play. Then was
upset by Wyomissing 73-66 in overtime in the semifinals. Lost the third-fourth
place game to Susquehanna Township 68-54.É.Lost 54-42 to Crestwood in PIAA AAA Round of 32.
13. Steelton-Highspire (12-9)
(AAA)
Opened District play with a 62-54 win over
Middletown, then lost in the quarterfinals to Eastern York 62-50. Came back and
took fifth place with wins over Boiling Springs 65-58 and Lancaster Catholic
76-60.É.Lost in PIAA
AAAA Round of 32 to
Philadelphia Neumann-Goretti 98-71.
14. Red Land (16-12) (AAAA)
After a 12-10 regular season, the Patriots defeated
Solanco 70-43, Hempfield 54-35 and Cedar Cliff 44-42 (OT) (a team they have
defeated 18-times in a row) to reach the semifinals. There they lost to Central
Dauphin East 55-41. Then in the consolation game for third place they upset
Harrisburg 54-51.É.In the PIAA AAAA Round of 32, their season was ended by Chester 66-50.
15. Hempfield (21-3) (AAAA)
Upset in the first round by Red Land 54-35.
16. Conestoga Valley (18-8)
(AAAA)
Defeated Twin Valley 41-37 in overtime in District
pigtail game. Then was defeated 63-54 in first round by Reading.
17. Gettysburg (16-8) (AAAA)
Defeated Carlisle 65-61 in District Pigtail game,
then lost in first round to Harrisburg 62-46.
18. Delone Catholic (18-9)
(AA)
Defeated Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt 57-46 and
Columbia 62-44 in the first two rounds of District play. Then lost to Trinity
68-53 in the semifinals. Came back and took third place with a 59-54 win over
Reading Holy NameÉ..Lost 55-38 to Philadelphia Imhotep Charter in PIAA AA Round of 32.
19. Reading Holy Name (23-6)
(AA)
Got a 2-0 forfeit win over Upper Dauphin to start
district play, then defeated Hanover 62-40. Upset by Pequea Valley 45-43 in
overtime, then saw season come to an end with a loss to Delone Catholic 59-54
in the consolation game.
20. Wyomissing (20-7) (AAA)
The Spartans became the surprise team of the
District AAA tournament, when after victories over Hershey 43-42 and Boiling
Springs 61-57, they upset Eastern York 73-66 in the semifinals. They gave York
Suburban everything they could handle before losing 48-45 in the finalsÉ..Then
in the PIAA
AAA Round of 32 they
were defeated by Holy Ghost Prep 54-44.
