4. York (15-5) (AAAA) The Bearcats put 9-players in the scoring column
and defeated Susquehannock 70-43. Malik Generett and Mike Kinard both scored 12pts, while Naijia
McGhee
scored 10pts. Then made 17-of-18 free throws in the fourth quarter (19-of-22
for the game) and defeated rival Red Lion 63-54 for their second win
over the Lions this year. Chemin Lambert led with 13pts, Mlachi Leonard had 11pts and Generett had 9pts and 15rebs. Then mercy
ruled Spring Grove 73-24. 5. Lancaster (15-4) (AAAA) The Red Tornado defeated Ephrata 62-46 as Franklyn
Thomas led
with 13pts. Then Lamar Patterson hit a 35-foot three (game-high 22pts) as time expired
for a 61-58 win over Hempfield to give coach Steve Powell his 300th career win. Jerren Harris
added
19pts. 6. Steelton-Highspire (12-3)
(AAA) The Rollers used a 32-8 fourth quarter to squash
Cedar Cliff 83-49 and give the Colts their fourth consecutive loss.
Josh Proctor led
with 28pts and Lance Chisholm added 24pts. Then held off Chambersburg 69-60 for 9th straight win as Jordan
Smith had
17pts, Proctor
13pts and Lloyd Hill 10pts, 9-game winning streak snapped by upstart Harrisburg Bishop
MCDevitt on a last second shot, 71-69. Chisholm led with 21pts. Started a new
streak in their fourth game of the week as they routed Cedar Cliff,
74-54 their second win over the Colts in the week. Chisholm led with 29pts and Proctor
scored
13pts.
7. West York (14-4) (AAA) The Bulldogs defeated York Northeastern 57-40
in a game not in the papers last Saturday. Jordan Cable led with 15pts and Andrew
Zmolek added
13pts. Then used a 27 point second quarter to springboard to a 69-43
win over Spring Grove. Jordan Cable led with 15pts and Dan Haverstock had 13pts. Dumped Kennard-Dale
75-57. West York placed five players in double-figures led by Jordan
Cable with
13pts. Then belted Dover 82-66. Haverstock erupted for 39pts, Jordan Cable had 18pts and Zmolek added 10pts. Then lost to #1 Reading 55-53. Jordan Cable was high with 16 pts, while
Ben Cable and
Haverstock each
scored 12pts.
8. Red Land (16-3) (AAAA) The Patriots jumped to a 17-point first quarter
lead and coasted to a 67-36 win over Mechanicsburg. Jermaine Marshall
led
with 20pts. Kyle Otstot 16pts. Max Liddell had 11pts and Bart McCardle
added
10pts. Then jumped to a 20-6 first quarter lead and went on to swamp
Hershey 69-49. Kendall Hinze led with 20pts and Marshall had 14pts. In third win of
the week, Red Land defeated Middletown 76-57. Marshall (23pts), Otstot (20pts, five 3-pointers) and
Kendall Hinze (14pts)
had the Patriots' offense on full throttle.
9. Harrisburg (10-7) (AAAA) The Cougars overcame a 6-point deficit with
a 25-point fourth quarter and won their third game in a row, with a
68-67 victory over Carlisle. Wayne Griffin led the way with 18pts, while Quincy Roberts
and
Cody Williams both
sat out the game with injuries. Alphonso Washington added 15pts. Won their third
close game in a row with a 59-55 win over Cumberland Valley. Washington
led with 13pts, Sheldon
Wilson added
a double-double with 12pts, 10rebs and Griffin added 10pts. 3-game winning
streak snapped by Central Dauphin East 42-37. Eric Henry and Washington split 18pts for the Cougars. 10. Columbia (18-1) (AA) The Tide raced to a 47-17 halftime lead over
Lampeter-Strasburg on the way to a 78-35 blowout win. Mike Seibert
scored 15 of his 21pts in the
first quarter. Corey Halterman hit three treys and had 11pts for Columbia. Columbia
continues to roll as they gain an 83-60 win over Pequea Valley. Seibert
led with 29pts (14 in the first
half) and Adam Pittman scored 17 of his 28pts in the first half. 11. Delone Catholic (17-2) (AA) Chris Hartmann scored 20pts as the Squires
knocked off York Northeastern 55-33. Cody Smith hit three 3-pointers to provide
offensive spark for Delone. Then crushed York County Tech 50-19 as Hartmann led with 18pts. Then Adam
Naymick (11rebs)
and Hartmann
led with 17pts apiece as the Squires blew away Biglerville 63-37. Then
lost to Philadelphia Communications Tech 61-52.
12. York Catholic (15-5) (AA) Jacob Iati was a perfect 8-for-8 at the
foul line and hit for 29pts and John Full added 19pts as the Irish crushed
Hanover 85-52. Then Iati scored 20pts and moved past his brother. Jon on the
area's all-time boys' scoring list. His total is 2,217points. The Irish
defeated Littlestown 67-51 in the game. John Full led York Catholic with 21pts
and Travis Marks had 11pts. Iati then set the YAIAA scoring record as he passed Kennard-Dale's
Adam Miller's record of 2,236. Jacob scored 20pts for the game to
give him the record at 2,237pts as the Irish defeated York Northeastern
43-24 to avenge an early season loss. 13. Greencastle-Antrim (17-1)
(AAA) The Blue Devils put four players in double-figures
and blasted Big Spring 87-57. Levie Holman led with 15pts, 10rebs, Rusty
Cordell had
14pts, Trevor Ile had 12pts and Jordan Gembe had 10pts. High scoring Dameatric Scott
had only 2pts. The Blue Devils,
who clinched the MPC Colonial Division title, trailed 11-0 but took
a 25-24 lead into haltime and defeated Scotland 61-56. Scott scored 23pts to lead the way.. 14. Carlisle (11-7) (AAAA) Carlisle lost their second game in a row when
they fell to Harrisburg 68-67. Anthony Coleman led the Hurd with 22pts, Pat
Wilson had
19pts and Corey Henneghan had 11pts. Lost third consecutive game when they dropped
a 65-59 game to Cumberland Valley. Adam Arnold led the Hurd with 15pts. 15. Trinity (11-6) (AA) The Shamrocks bounced Palmyra 77-53 as Eric
Kindler scored
23pts. Then Kindler (17pts), Eric Pochak and R.J. Dill shared 40pts as Trinity coasted to a 69-46 victory
over Lower Dauphin. Then got outscored 12-2 down the stretch and lost
to Susquehanna Township 54-47 despite five treys and 30pts from the
6-5 sophomore Eric Kindler
16. Hempfield (13-6) (AAAA) The Black Knights hit five treys in the first
quarter on the way to a 72-52 victory over Solanco. They got 15pts from
Jordan Stewart and
Marc Kreider in
the win. Lost at Lancaster 61-58 on a long three at the buzzer. Stewart
led the Black Knights, who
led 23-19 at the half, with 21pts, while Christian Walck chipped in with 12pts, Then
defeated Cumberland Valley 47-43 as Stewart with 18pts and Kreider with 16pts led the way.
17. Cedar Cliff (10-8) (AAAA) The Colts lost their fourth in a row, 83-49
to Steelton-Highspire. D. J. Rowe scored 23pts in the big loss. Snapped a four game losing
streak with a 61-50 win over Central Dauphin. Rowe led again with 22pts and Travis
Mettler
checked in with 14pts, Aaron Caulfield had 11pts and Brody Ponder had 11rebs. Then lost again
to Steelton-Highspire 74-54. Caulfield led with 17pts and Rowe scored 15pts.
18. Mechanicsburg (12-6) (AAAA) Jake Zeigler led the Wildcats with 12pts
but they lost big to Red Land 67-36. Lost to Gettysburg 47-34 led by
Steve Edgar with
10pts.
19. Red Lion (16-4) (AAAA) The Lions came from behind to defeat Kennard-Dale
59-53 led by Todd Maciejewski with 14pts. Then lost for the
second time this year to York, 63-54. Josh Lauver led with 19pts and Maciejewski
had
15pts. Came back and defeated Dallastown 51-37 as Josh Quinn led with 14pts. Spencer
McCreary added
13pts and 10rebs and Maciejewski had 12pts.
20. Eastern York (14-5) (AAA) The Golden Knights snapped their losing ways
and crushed Biglerville 83-20. Biglerville was shut out on the scoreboard
in both the first and fourth quarters. Eastern led 24-0 after the first
quarter and it was 22-0 in the fourth quarter. Kevin McMullen had 16pts to lead the rout.
Ryan Yohe finished
with 12pts and Andrew Nicholas had 10pts as 10 different players scored. Then Nicholas
scored
18pts and Austin Tillotson added 15pts as Eastern topped York Northeastern 70-42.
Won third game in a row with a 41-40 win over York Suburban. Tillotson
led
with 15pts and Levi Myers added 11pts.
