1. Reading (22-0) (AAAA)

5. York (16-6) (AAAA)
The Bearcats defeated Central York 69-62 with Malik Generett leading with 24pts, while DeShawn Davis and Malachi Leonard combined for 27 more points. Then blew a 13-point
first quarter lead and eventually lost to Dallastown 52-45. Generett scored 15pts and grabbed 11rebs in the first half,
but was shutout in the second half as the Bearcats scored only 13 points in the
second half.
6. Harrisburg (12-8) (AAAA)
The Cougars overcame two double-digit deficits in the last three minutes of
regulation and defeated Steelton-Highspire 81-79 in overtime. Quincy Roberts, playing in his first game since he injured his
shoulder in the Lower Merion win, scored 32pts and grabbed 9rebs and scored the
game winning basket. Then Roberts had
23pts, Sheldon Wilson had 16pts
and Eric Henry 11pts as the
Cougars clinched a AAAA berth in the District playoffs by drilling Central
Dauphin 81-64. In the Hoop Groups Lehigh Valley Hoop Fest @ Parkland, the Cougars played Chester much tougher than many
expected but still lost 74-68. Six Cougars scored 8 or more points led by Roberts with 18pts, Alphonso Washington with 16pts, Wayne Griffin and Henry with 9pts each and Andre Battle and Willie Buie with
8pts each..
7. Steelton-Highspire (14-5) (AAA)
The Rollers could not hold on to two big leads in the fourth quarter and lost to
fast charging Harrisburg 81-79 in overtime despite 32pts from Lance
Chisholm. The Rollers led 60-50
with three minutes left and then again, 66-57 with just over two minutes left. Chisholm then scored 7 of his 17pts in the
fourth quarter comeback to lead the Rollers past his former teammates,
Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt, 80-75. Josh Proctor led with 22pts, Jeff Davis added 16pts and Ryan Hill had 12pts. Then rolled to a 60-23 lead after three
quarters and romped to a 68-47 win over Carlisle. Proctor led with 18pts. Playing their fourth game of the
week and eighth in two weeks the Rollers lost to Trinity 66-61. Chisholm led with 24pts.
8. West York (16-5) (AAA)
The Bulldogs had a big let down after their tough game with Reading on Saturday
and lost to New Oxford 73-68 despite 24pts, 8rebs, 5 assists and 4 steals from Dan
Haverstock and 14pts from Jordan
Cable. Came back and defeated
Susquehannock 64-48. Haverstock led
with 14pts, while Jordan Cable (13rebs)
and Brandon Parker (11rebs)
both added 11pts.
9. Red Land (17-4) (AAAA)
The Patriots had a 6-game winning streak snapped when Trinity came from behind
for a 63-58 loss for Red Land. Jermaine Marshall led with 24pts. Came back from the loss to defeat
Palmyra 61-36 as Kyle Otstot, Kendall Hinze and Marshall all scored in double-figures, sharing 41pts.
10. Columbia (20-1) (AA)
A 23-11 third quarter helped the Tide pull away to a 73-47 victory over Lebanon
Catholic. Mike Seibert scored
25pts to pace the win. Yahya McIntyre had 13pts and Adam Pittman added 11pts. Raised their winning streak to 20-games with a 75-55 win
over Lancaster Mennonite. Pittman (30pts) scored 15 of the Crimson Tide’s
23pts in the first quarter.
11. Delone Catholic (19-2) (AA)
Chris Hartmann scored 22pts as the
Squires knocked off Susquehannock 53-29. Then broke open a tight game and
defeated Hanover 67-32. Hartmann led the Squires with 21pts, 7rebs and 7 steals, Adam Naymick had 17pts and 14rebs.
12. Greencastle-Antrim (19-2) (AAA)
The Blue Devils opened a 43-16 lead on the way to a 70-55 win over Waynesboro. Dameatric
Scott led with 30pts, 5rebs and 5
assists. Then defeated Susquenita 58-50. Scott scored 22pts and grabbed 11rebs and Jordan Gembe had 11pts. Held a 42-37 lead at Chambersburg with
4:57 left in the game, but were outscored 18-3 the rest of the way in a 55-45
loss to the Trojans. Gembe led
with 23pts.
13. Trinity (13-7) (AA)
The Shamrocks overcame a 40-30 deficit late in the third quarter to defeat Red
Land 63-58. The win lifted Trinity into a tie for second place with Red Land
and Mechanicsburg in the MPC Keystone Division. Matt Donahue scored 19pts and Eric Kindler scored 12 of his 17pts in the fourth quarter to
help Trinity to the win. After the big win, Trinity stumbles and loses to
Gettysburg 58-50. Kindler (20pts)
and Eric Pochak (12pts) led the
Shamrocks. Came right back the next day and defeated Steelton-Highspire 66-61
as Kindler led with 22pts and Christian
Kuntz added 16pts..
14. Hempfield (15-6) (AAAA)
The Black Knights got caught in a slowdown with Warwick. It was 7-7 after the
first quarter and 9-9 at the half. Warwick took an 18-14 lead after three, but
Hempfield scored 14pts in the final quarter for a 28-27 win. No one was in
double-figures for the Knights. Matt Donato led with 9pts. Then avenged a triple-overtime
defeat with a 64-54 win over Cedar Crest. Jordan Stewart scored a game-high 21pts to lead. Eddie Gailor had 17pts and Marc Kreider added 14pts
15. York Catholic (16-6) (AA)
The Irish were beaten by York Suburban 60-45. It was their second loss to the
Trojans this year. Jacob Iati led
with 17pts. Bounced back and crushed Bermudian Springs 72-39.
16. Mechanicsburg (14-6) (AAAA)
The Wildcats broke a three game losing streak with a 51-44 victory over
Hershey. Jake Zeigler led with
20pts. Then defeated Middletown 71-61 as Zeigler scored 33pts and Chris White added 15pts.
17. Chambersburg (10-9) (AAAA)
Moves back into the ratings this week on the strength of wins over Cedar Cliff
and Greencastle-Antrim and also because they had been playing without two
starters for awhile. In a 57-56 win over Cedar Cliff, Ryan Borzager’s three-pointer with 3.3 seconds remaining in
overtime gave the Trojans the win. Armond Perez led with 26pts and Borzanger had 15pts. Then outscored Greencastle-Antrim 18-3
in the last 4:57 to gain a 55-45 win. Perez again led with 25pts and Borzager added 15pts.
18. Cedar Cliff (12-9) (AAAA)
The Colts started the week by losing in overtime to Chambersburg 57-56. Travis
Mettler and Aaron Caulfield had 15pts apiece and D. J. Rowe scored 13pts. Bounced back and crushed East
Pennsboro as Rowe, Caulfield and Mettler combined to score
42pts. Then clinched a berth in the District playoffs with a 73-58 win over
Harrisburg Bishop McDevitt. The trio of Caulfield, Rowe and Mettler this time combined to
score 62pts.
19. Red Lion (18-4) (AAAA)
The Lions put five players in double-figures, Matt Bray and Josh Quinn led with 14pts each, Spencer McCreary, Todd Maciejewski and Josh Lauver all with 10pts, in a 69-52 win over Spring Grove.
Then defeated York South Western 52-36 .
20. Eastern York (16-6) (AAA)
The Golden Knights defeated Bermudian Springs 57-51 as Andrew Nicholas had 14pts, Eric Chronister added 13pts and Austin Tillotson chipped in with 10pts. Then hosted AAA power,
Susquehanna Township and led into the fourth quarter before losing 76-74. Nicholas scored 31pts for the Knights.
Ended a three game week with a 51-32 victory over Littlestown.
DROPPED OUT: Carlisle
(11-9) (AAAA) - After losing to
Central Dauphin East 66-60 and Steelton-Highspire 68-47 to extend their losing
streak to five games.
