Reading 34 Wilson 33

Zack Zweuzug was back for Wilson for the first time since his broken finger on January 30. It really fired up the Bulldogs and they came out with their ususal tough defense and led 6-4 after the first quarter.

Reading showed their own full court pressure in the second quarter and held Wilson to two points and led 14-8 in a first half full of no offense. Trenity Burdine his usual sensational self had 8 of the 14pts.

In the third quarter it looked like Reading was ready for the kill as they pulled out to a 24-12 lead, but 6-4 Tyler Beck scored five straight points for Wilson and the score was down to 26 -17 heading into the final eight minutes.

In the fourth quarter, Reading seemed to get sloppy with the ball and Beck and 6-7 Jereme Good kept getting buckets inside and all of a sudden Wilson was within 32-31 very late in the game. Xavier Mumford hit two fouls for Reading and the lead was up to 34-31. Beck then went 1-for-2 at the line to make it 34-32. Again he went one-for-two to pull Wilson back to 34-33 with 12.5 seconds left and got his own rebound off the missed foul shot. Delvon Brown stole the ball from Beck, got it to Burdine who threw it down court to Brown, but he was fouled with 3.2 seconds left. He mised the one and one and Wilson rebounded and called time out. They would not get a shot as big time Burdine stole the inbounds pass and Reading had escaped with the win.

Mike Uehlein and Taylor McDuffke used their size to score early and often in the first quarter and the Black Knights led 19-16 after the first quarter.

Christian Walck joined the other two in the second quarter and even ended it with a length of the court race and finished with a dunk to end the half Hempfield 35-24. York had all starters in the scoring column but was unable to him much from the outside and also had trouble penetrating for buckets.

Hempfield would pull away early in the third to lead 40-26 and York using full court pressure cut it to 40-30. From there the rest of the quarter, Hempfield would get out to 14-15 point leads and York would cut it to 10, but the Knights would pull away again. The quarter ended Hempfield 52-38.

The fourth quarter was close to a mirrow of the Penn Manor win on Saturday as Hempfield shot 22 foul shots in the final eight minutes. This time though they did have two field goals, but the were early in the period as they finished the last six minutes shooting 18 foul shots, because York had to foul to try and catch up. They did cut it to 57-47, but again Hempfield would pull away and the final was 69-53.
