Profiles of the Top Seniors – Class of 2009

 

Erique Gumbs – 6Õ9Ó (Caravel) Gatorade State Player of the year in 2008.  Strong inside scorer and good rebounder. Nationally ranked by Hoop Scoop and Scouthoops.com. Recruited by Atlantic 10 and Big East schools.

 

Daiquine Peterson – 6Õ3Ó (A.I. DuPont) Athletic, strong and a good leaper. State player of the year candidate. One of the top five players in Delaware. Scoring machine.

 

Isaiah Philmore – 6Õ7Õ (John Carroll, MD) Tournament MVP in prestigious Future Stars tourney in Philadelphia. Very athletic and one of the hardest working prospects in the nation. Division I Mid-Major prospect. Is very quick. Has a great attitude.

 

Shannon Givens – 6Õ0Ó (Academy of New Church, PA) One of the top guards in the Philadelphia area. He is super tough and an excellent floor general who can score clutch baskets and makes all his teammates better. Has committed to Drexel.

 

Tyshawn Bell – 6Õ7Ó (Caesar Rodney) Nice outside shooter from 20 feet. Low Division I prospect.

 

Reggie Burley – 5Õ8Ó (Glasgow) Very strong point guard who can penetrate at will and can hit from 18 feet.

 

Paul Reynolds – 6Õ4Ó (Smyrna) Rugged inside scorer and rebounder.

 

Omar Skinner – 6Õ1Ó (William Penn) Excellent rebounder for a guard. He can score points in bunches. Strong defensive player.

 

 

Profiles of the Top Juniors – Class of 2010

 

Danny Stewart – 6Õ7Ó (Neuman-Goretti, PA) Player who is excellent rebounder and inside scorer who runs the floor well. Top 10 Philadelphia area junior.

 

Anthony Myles - 6Õ4Ó (Polytech) He is a tremendous leaper with 3-point shooting range. Very good athlete who has a big upside. He is Division I mid-major prospect.

 

D.J. Irving – 5Õ10Ó (Archbishop Carroll, PA) Small wiry point guard who can drill the 3-pointer and drives well to the basket. Division I basketball prospect.

 

 

Tyreek Duren – 6Õ0Ó (Neumann-Goretti, PA) Slick guard who can blow by the defense very quickly to the hoop. Good floor general who makes good basketball decisions on the floor.

 

Marcus Porter – 6Õ3Ó (Howard) He is a wing guard who can drill the 3-point shot and is a great foul shooter. 2nd team All-League in Philadelphia Chosen league.

 

Austin Brunswick – 6Õ2Ó (Hodgson) Good athlete who can score in bunches. One of the top 5 juniors on Delaware.

 

Keefer Francis – 6Õ3Ó (Bonner, PA) He is a great rebounder and is a strong inside scorer.

 

Joel Brockenbrough – 6Õ6Ó (Hodgson) Strong inside scorer and rebounder. Good shotblocker, very athletic.

 

 

Profiles of the Top Sophomores – Class of 2011

 

Malcolm Gilbert – 6Õ11Ó (Academy of New Church, PA) Big time shotblocker and intimidator who has complete dedication to playing defense. Is a good rebounder and has a good attitude. Is nationally ranked in his class by everyone.

 

Trevor Cooney – 6Ó3Ó (Sanford School) He is rated National top 25 by ESPN. May be the best outside shooter in his class. Is being recruited by ÒBig East ConferenceÓ schools. Good leaper and excellent foul shooter.

 

Terrence Bobb Jones – 6Õ3Ó (Delcastle) He is a tremendous leaper and drives to the hoop well. Gets better each time he steps onto the court. Great potential.

 

Lemond Church – 6Õ4Ó (Malvern Prep, PA) Very aggressive forward who slashes well to the basket, very good athlete.

 

DaQuan Walker – 6Õ3Ó (Malvern Prep, PA) Good scorer around the basket.  Is very good defensive player. Has a very good upside.

 

Mark Medley – 6Õ1Ó (Tatnall School) A good outside shooter and intelligent player who is nationally ranked by ESPN.

 

Maurice Nelson – 5Õ10Ó (Chester, PA) Nice ballhandler and very good 3-point shooter. Younger brother of NBA player Jameer Nelson.

 

Keith Yancey – 5Õ10Ó (Concord) Very good point guard who makes good court decision and can hit the ÒbigÓ shot when it is needed.

 

Exzavier Cooper – 6Õ4Ó (Delcastle) He is one of the top 5 sophomores in Delaware. Good rebounder and inside scorer.

Alex Hackett – 5Õ11Ó (Delcastle) A tough point guard who drives well to the basket. Has great confidence in his game.

 

 

Profiles of the Top Freshmen – Class of 2012

 

Andre Horne – 6Õ3Ó (Roman Catholic, PA) Tremendous scorer and rebounder. Is very athletic. National top 40 freshman.

 

Kareem Robinson – 5Õ9Ó (Chester, PA) He is aggressive guard who can handle the ball and put up points very quickly.

 

Jordan Purnell – 6Õ3Ó (Brandywine) Super quick ballhandler and rebounder.

 

Lucke Phouthison – 5Õ9Ó (Glasgow) Mature point guard who is good 3-point shooter.

 

Rahmir Jefferson – 6Õ4Ó (Chester, PA) Possibly the most talented freshman in the area. He can run, jump, and shoot and is national top 25 freshman.

 

Tyaire Hudson – 5Õ9Ó (Hodgson) The quickest guard in area from baseline to baseline.

 

Derrick Stewart – 6Õ4 (Neumann – Goretti , PA) Tremendous rebounder and shotblocker who has a good upside.

 

Parris Ridgeway-Higgs – 5Õ8Ó (Hodgson) Great point guard who makes good decisions and is superb passer.

 

Eric Laster – 6Õ5Ó (Polytech) Very agile Big man who is good post scorer.
